Nutrition care in other Health Professions
The Nevada law licenses Practitioners of Oriental Medicine (OM) of which acupuncture and herbal medicine are considered branches. There is no mention of nutrition care in the scope outlined for OM practitioners in the state licensure law. Chiropractic is defined as, "the science, art and practice of palpating and adjusting the articulations of the human body by hand, the use of physiotherapy, hygienic, nutritive and sanitary measures and all methods of diagnosis." Additionally, there is no other clarification provided for what constitutes nutritive measures. A chiropractic doctor should seek legal advice to explore the extent to which nutrition care is covered by this scope and what measures might constitute a violation of laws governing nutrition care in this state.
